I’ve noticed recently that one of the bulbs has started to look a little different. Not sure if it’s gotten bent or moved within the blink.
But it’s made me wonder if these bulbs would ever need replacing? Since the Kickstarter hasn’t been fulfilled and we currently don’t have a timeline for when the party games would be released, I’d like to plan on how to maintain the blinks I currently have.
Thanks for sharing, we definitely took a lot of care to design and manufacture Blinks to last a long time. That said, depending on use and/or storage conditions, hardware can fail.
The LEDs (Light Emitted Diodes) should be quite resilient but are not without their own lifespan or potential failures. Sadly this part is not replaceable.
The lifespan of the LEDs can reach over 100,000 hours, meaning they should last quite some time. The way they are manufactured, the LEDs should not move in the housing. Subtle changes in the quality of light tend to be related to how full the battery is.
The best way to ensure a long lifespan for your Blinks is keeping them in a dry environment and away from any corrosive substances. Storing them in their Sushi Roll keeps them pretty well protected from the elements. Lastly, I’ll share that unlike most electronics, Blinks don’t consume any power when they are in their deep sleep (i.e. not played with for ~15 minutes) meaning that you won’t have to worry about crusty batteries if they are sitting idle for a while.
